State Ministry of Education, Chinese Ambassador launch ‘China-Somalia Friendship Scholarship’

Mogadishu, (CKG) – The State Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Education of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Nura Mustaf Mukhtar, together with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, H.E Wang Yu, launched the ‘China-Somalia Friendship Scholarship’ held at the Somali National University in Mogadishu.

The Ambassador was invited to cut the ribbon of the China-Somalia Friendship Scholarship, which is expected to contribute to the Somali education system. The 50 students with the highest pass marks in the 2024-2025 school year have been given scholarships by the Chinese government, following the launch of the China-Somalia Friendship Scholarship program.

“So privileged to visit renowned and address the launch ceremony of “China-Somalia Friendship Scholarship.” The project will make due contributions to Somalia’s education cause,” Ambassador Wang said.

The event was attended by the Somali University rector, Professor Ga’al, faculty deans, and students.
