Somalia and Kenya have to intensify the fight against Al-Shabaab in both countries.

Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked group has been carrying deadly attacks in Somalia and Kenya for the past decade.

Thousands of Somali people were in attacks on restaurants, hotels, markets as well as government institutions.

The group also carried out deadly attacks in Kenyan towns including Mandera, Garissa, Wajir, Nairobi, Mombasa and Lamu.

During a meeting in Nairobi, Somalia’s army chief, Gen. Yussuf Odawa and his Kenyan counterpart agreed to cooperate on the operations against Al-Shabaab.

The commanders also pledged to share military intelligence reports to enhance the security of the countries.

Al-Shabaab which has a wing in Kenya also attacked military bases of Kenyan and Somali forces in southern Somalia, killing hundreds of soldiers.
