Presidents Mohamud, Erdogan discuss bilateral relations in phone call

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has held talks Recep Tayyip Erdogan who recently re-elected as the president of Turkey.

According to a statement by Villa Somalia, President Mohamud who spoke to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on phone call has congratulated him on his re-election.

During their conversation, President Mohamed expressed confidence that under his leadership.

“Türkiye will continue to make significant strides in various aspects of development. The leaders reiterated their commitment to robust bilateral ties and affirmed the expansion of collaboration in the areas of shared interest,” President Mohamud said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday won Turkey’s presidential election, defeating opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu in the runoff vote and stretching his rule into a third decade.

With almost all of the votes counted, Erdogan received 52.14 per cent of votes in the second round on Sunday, beating his challenger, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who won 47.86 per cent, according to the Supreme Election Council.
