Kenya police arrest suspect linked to murder of Somali business woman

Kenya police have arrested a man suspected to have killed Khadija Hussein in Garissa.

Hussein who was a businesswoman was killed on December 25 2022 in Garissa town after she was attacked with a sword.

In a statement on Sunday, the Director of Criminal Investigations said the suspect, 20, was part of a group of three men who masterminded the murder of Hussein.

“Hussein who was attacked using a sharp object believed to be a Somali sword that went through her upper abdomen was pronounced dead at Medina Diagnostic Hospital while undergoing treatment,” DCI said.

Police appealed to the public to present any information that will lead to the arrest of the rest of the suspects.

According to witnesses, Hussein was attacked by three suspects who were on a motorbike and succumbed to stomach injuries from a knife stab at Medina Diagnostics Hospital.
